Renaissance Plaza As proposed, Renaissance Plaza provides the rare opportunity to design, from ground up, a 3+ million SF destination just three blocks from the Inner Harbor. After completion of the New Baltimore Arena, the present arena and parking lot would be demolished to make way for this development. This site is the starting point of the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904. As such, plans call to reopen the site as it was then, and to commemorate this historic event with a monument and surrounding fountains. To facilitate an array of uses, 2,200 parking spaces would be incorporated into the site which would include: a 250-room hotel, 1,225 units in two residential towers, and 1,200,000 GSF in two office towers. The 250,000 SF of retail will create a downtown retail mall and the residential tower will have unimpeded views of the harbor from its upper 35 floors.
